The Nigerian Academy of Engineering was inspired by the need for a small, focused engineering body that would advance and pursue excellence in Technology and Engineering, and provide a national platform for experts to pool their experience and insights for public and private technical policy.
Comprising very senior engineers elected as Fellows, the Academy is dedicated to the technological development of Nigeria and international competitiveness in science and engineering.
The Nigerian Academy of Engineering hosted its 2nd National Innovation Competition in 2025. The competition received over 58 entries. The innovators and their innovations passed through 2 stages of verification, and the top 7 finalists were invited to an exhibition and awards night, which was held on the 25th of June, 2025.
