As part of its committment to foster healthy engineering practices in the country, the Academy on the 24th of August 2024 paid a courtesy visit to the newly built Dangote Refinery.

The visit was anchored by the president of the Academy, Prof. Rahamon Bello who was ably represented by the immediate past president, Prof. Azikiwe Onwualu.

Prof. Azikiwe Onwualu hailed the Dangote Refinery for its compliance with European Union standards in all its engineering facilities. Also, he noted the tools and technology deployed in the construction of the refinery were of the highest European standards, ensuring that the refinery stood as a beacon of engineering excellence.

In attendance of the courtesy visit included other engineering bodies like The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and Association For Consulting Engineering In Nigeria (ACEN).
